В продължение на последните 6 години той е подложен на изключително страдание, тъй като израелските власти отказват осигуряването на съответно лечение и подходящи медикаменти, болницата на затвора в Рамле, където той е задържан от момента на ареста си, отказва да изпълни решението за извършване на 


физиотерапевтични процедури средно 5 пъти седмично от лекар-специалист.

Израелски войници убиват невинен палестинец и раняват двамата му братя

Посреднощ на 27 март 2012, войници от силите за сигурност, облечени в цивилни дрехи, както и войници в унифрома, влизат в село Кафр Рамун, североизточно от Рамала, и стрелят по трима братя от семейство Шауахах: Акрам, на 36, Ануар, на 38, и Рашад, на 28. И тримата биват ранени, по всеки е стреляно повече от веднъж, след стрелбата те са откарани в болницата Шааре Зедек в Йерусалим, където са били приети в интензивното отделение. На 2 април 2012 Рашад Шауахах умира в болницата от своите рани.

Тримата братя и техните семейсва живеят в края на селото. Братята обясняват, че в последно време е имало много грабежи в селото, за това винаги един от тях е стоял на пост през ноща. На 27 март в 1:30 през ноща, Акрам се събудил, за да застане на пост. Той видял през прозореца двама мъже в цивилни дрехи на около 50 метра от дома им. Тогава събудил братята си Ануар и Рашад и тримата, предполагайки, че мъжете отвън са крадци, излезли на улицата и извикали непознатите мъже да спрат. Акрам е държал тояга, а Разхад и Ануар по един нож.

Когато братята се приближили на метри от мъжете и изискали от тях да се идентифицират, един от непознатите извадил оръжие и стрелял към Ануар, олучвайки го във врата. Според показанията дадени за Б’Целем, тогава и другият мъж извадил оръжие. В отговор братята се опитали да нападнат двамата мъже, но те отвърнали с още изстрели, които ранили Акрам и Рашад в стомаха.

В този мен, доколкото е известно на Б’Целем, униформени израелски войници дошли от югоизток. Рашад и Ануар вече лежали на земята, а Акрам, който все още бил прав, описва случилото се така:

В този момент видях група войници да се приближават – идваха от посока дома на Абу Юсеф, и викаха: ‘Стоп, стоп.’ Почуствах облекчение, защото смятах, че армията ще спре и задържи въоръжените мъже. Тогава войниците дойдоха до нас и един от тях ми каза да спра, сочейки ме с пистолет. Разбира се, че не помръднах и вече държах ръцете си изправени, за да покажа, че не съм опасен. Тогава им казах: ‘Крадците стреляха по нас, ранен съм в стомаха, ранен съм’. Понижих ръка, исках да вдигна тениската ми, за да видят, че съм ранен, но тогава войникът стреля към мен и ме улучи с третия куршум отдясно в стомаха. Тогава паднах на земята.

Акрам заяви пред Б’Целем, че след това същият войник го е доближил, проклел го е, изритал го е в крака и е стъпил върху главата му. Акрам също дава показания, че друг войник е стрелял няколко пъти към брат му Рашад, докато Рашад е лежал на земята. Когато войниците спрели да стрелят, на братята е била оказана първа помощ от военния медик, а след това са били откарани с военна кола до линейка, която пък ги е откарала до болницата в Йерусалим.

На 2 април 2012 Рашад Шауаха умира от своите рани в болницата. В медицинския доклад се казва, че е имал пет огнестрелни рани в корема, както и една в лявата ръка. Рашад е бил опериран няколко пъти, но сътоянието му се е влошило и той е починал.

Според медицинските документи, Ануар Шауахах е бил ранен с куршум, който е преминал през врата му и е излязъл от лявата страна на гърба. Той е бил изписан на 8 април. Третият брат Акрам е бил ранен от четири изстрела в корема и е бил изписан на 6 април 2012 след престой в операционното отделение.

Резултатите от проведенето разследване водят до повишена загриженост от страна на Б’Целем по отношение на поведението на войниците и армията в този инцидент. Oт показанията, дадени пред Б’Целем, става ясно, че братята са нямали и представа, че пред тях стоят войници в цивилни дрехи И поради това са предполагали, че мъжете са крадци, именно заради това са излезли навън въоръжени с ножови и щикове. Разследването още показва, че двамата войници в цивилни дрехи са игнорирали запитванията на братята за идентификация, а вместо това директно са извадили оръжие. Дори ако животът на войниците е бил под риск, щом братята са ги видели, те е трябвало да идентифицират себе си и да предупредят палестинците преди да стрелят. В допълнение, показанията и медицинските доклади сочат, че двамата войници под прикритие не са се целили в долната част на телата на братята, а в горната половина.

Резултатите от разследването също така показват, че униформените войници, които са пристигнали след започването на стрелбата, също са стреляли по Акрам и Рашад, въпреки, че двамата мъже вече са били ранени, а Рашад е и лежал на земята. Няма оправдание за такава стрелба.

Говорителят на израелската армия не е споделил подробности по инцидента досега. Медиите само съобщават бегло, че е започнало разследване и че резултатите от него ще бъдат предадени на Military Advocate General Corps. В първоначално съобщение на военното радио от 27 март 2012 се твърди, че терористи са нападнали и намушкали израелски войник по време на военна операция. Campaign to boycott Adidas

Adidas falls in the test of integrity

Sports is a human effort, bringing together people on the principles of freedom, justice, equality and non-racism and slavery. 
For a long time, sport was used to face the associations and countries that practiced racial segregation, discrimination and all forms of ethnic cleansing, occupation and colonization, for example, many sport associations for several types of sports, especially the Federation of Sports English Football (Alrjbe) adopted the principle of boycott the Pretoria regime apartheid in South Africa, and the policy has had a great impact on the dismantling of the apartheid regime.
On March 16, the Zionist occupation organized a competition to run Marathon in the city of Jerusalem. Marathon The path was divided into track between East Jerusalem and West Jerusalem, in an attempt to prove that Jerusalem is the capital of their state.

This irresponsible act of corporate sponsors to support Zionist entity's Marathon, must not go without punishing those companies that promote killing and occupation. Arab Sports Federation has announced the boycott to all companies that sponsoring the Marathon, including "Adidas" for their contribution in spreading hatred and racial discrimination and their support for the Israeli occupation in Palestine that's killing hundreds and thousands of Palestinians, and deportation of millions of their land in the greatest human tragedy after World War II.

Later, ministers of Sports and youth Arab countries announced the Arab boycott of Adidas from contributing and sponsoring all Arab sports activities.
And For the Holy Jerusalem, the Arab Sports Federation decided that the Arab Marathon will be held next year in countries Archive on the same day of the Israeli marathon in most Arab countries, entitled "Jerusalem is ours. Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Arab Federation for Sport and ministers of Youth and Sports, and we call all sports fans and athletes to boycott all products of "Adidas" as a contribution from them in response to the illegal act made by Jerusalem Occupiers and also as a contribution in the fight against Israel occupation in the Arab-Islamic land of Palestine.

We also call all fans of sports teams being sponsored by Adidas to boycott this company for their support of the occupation of Palestine and Jerusalem. Finally, Adidas has to know that all Arabs and Muslims love Jerusalem and Palestine, and hate the Zionist occupation.

Габриела Иванова: зехтинът от сълзи, Палестина и защо една българка е доброволка в Западния бряг

На гости в Интидар…

До съвсем скоро за външната политика на Израел се пишеше малко – от критичната и инакомислеща гледна точка. За разбиването на тази представа допринесе до голяма степен мирната съпротива на палестинските семейства в Западния бряг. Наричам го Западен бряг, защото все още това не е Палестина. Там действа само официална автономия, но нищо повече – израелската политика на заселване на фанатизирани заселници в едновремешни палестински села, прави още по-невъзможен за разрешаване този конфликт. За съжаление, аз не мога да посетя тези земи – заради двойното ми гражданство и по-точно сирийското, а знаете, че израелските власти не допускат хора с подобни паспорти, както и обратното. За щастие, има кой да разказва за ставащото в Западния бряг, а отскоро сред тези хора е българка, която е избрала за своя кауза борбата на палестинците. 
До момента, освен Intidar, на български за Палестина се пишеше в още два блога, като смея да твърдя, че са изключително добри- този на Мариян Карагьозов и също на Мая Димитрова. На гости в Intidar е Габриела Иванова, която избра да е доброволка в Палестина, за да помага на местните хора. Поддържа своя блог на български, наречен от нея “Зехтин от сълзи” - и това е четвъртият блог на български, който пише за Палестина и то запълва ниша, която съществуваше дълго време, на очевидеца. А защо блогът й се казва “Зехтин от сълзи”, тя сама ще разкаже…

Разкажи ни за себе си…
Казвам се Габриела Иванова, на 27 съм. Завърших арабистика в Софийския университет, след което осъзнах, че ме влече повече социалната работа. От завършването ми до сега се занимавах с различни доброволчески дейности. В началото беше ЕДС (Европейска доброволческа служба) – програма, чрез която прекарах една година в Бялисток – градче в североизточна Полша, в което има голям бежански център за всички онези бежанци, които се опитват да влязат в Европа през Полша. Бежанците там са главно от Чечня. С доброволци от други европейски държави провеждахме занятия за децата в центъра и водехме импровизирана детска градина за всякакви възрасти. След това имам и известен опит във Френския Прованс с Caritas, където бях доброволка в Центъра по интеграция, в случая на ромското население от Източна Европа живеещо в голяма мизерия извън града. Но си остана неизпълнена мечта до онзи момент това да съчетая социалните дейности с образованието ми като арабист.
И тогава се появи възможността да отидеш в Палестина?
Докато търсех доброволчески проект в арабо-говоряща държава, попаднах на такъв за Палестина. Ставаше въпрос за мирна интервенция от трета страна в конфликтни региони в окупирания Западен бряг.
И там трябваше да вършите…?
По времето от годината, по което аз заминах, това се изразяваше в придружаване с цел протекция на онези палестински селяни, чиято земя е в близост до еврейски поселения и където  заселниците извършват нападения над палестинците по време прибирането на маслинената реколта.
Част от работата ни беше и това да се включваме в мирните демонстрации на палестинците срещу израелската окупация, въобще да бъдем тяхна протекция и да сме там в солидарност с тях като използваме едничката привилегия, че сме чужденци.
Искаш да кажеш, че е привилегия да си чужденец в Западния бряг? Че палестинците нямат равни права, дори по-малко от на чужденец?
В Израел палестинците са под военен закон, докато чужденците са привилегировани и попадат в рамките на нещо като граждански кодекс, един вид сме третирани различно. Например, ако аз бъда арестувана по време на демонстрация, тъй като де факто няма основание за подобен арест, трябва да бъда освободена до максимум 24 часа.
Т.е.?
Ако един палестинец бъде арестуван по същия повод, той може да бъде задържан за неопределен период от време от армията, тъй като в Израел функционира удобното „административно задържане“, което им позволява да държат окупираното палестинско население за неопределен период от време, без обвинение или процес. Обвинението всъщност е неизменно „хвърляне на камъни“, дори да е доказано чрез снимков и видео материал, че въпросният не е правил нищо подобно и е протестирал напълно мирно. И докато подобни двойни и дори тройни стандарти (израелските граждани попадат под трета правна система) е безспорно абсолютен расизъм,  ние, чужденците използваме това несправедливо привилегировано отношение към нас, за да бъдем в солидароност с палестинците в борбата им за човешки права и отношение. В Западния бряг прекарах три месеца, след които си дадох сметка, че тези три месеца ще се превърнат част от живота ми нататък.

Нещо, която е доста различно от онова, което си правила преди това.
Докато винаги преди това съм била аполитически настроена и със сигурност далеч от политическия активизъм, днес единственото, което ме занимава, е да следя какво се случва в Палестина, и да говоря на всеки, които би искал да слуша за онова, което съм видяла, че преминава един народ под военна окупация. Напълно убедена съм вътрешно, че всеки, които отиде в Западния бряг или Газа, е неизбежно да стане, ако не пропалестински настроен, то поне настроен срещу политиката на израелското правителство в палестинските територии. За това говори нарастващият брой активисти от Израел, присъединяващи се към палестинските демонстрации през последните години, след като видят какво се случва в окупираните територии. За това говори и параноичният страх, изпитван от на Израел по отношение на пропалестински настроените чужденци. На последните им се бие черен печат и им се забранява отново да влизат в страната, в случай, че са уличени в подобно „прегрешение“.
Разкажи за блога си. Палестина е променила живота ти? Как виждат твоите очи Палестина и нейните проблеми – смяташ ли да продължаваш да пишеш на български за Палестина?
Преди това слабо се интересувах от онова, което се случва по света, бях обявила, че новините ме потискат и рядко ги следях, изпитвах абсолютна апатия към политиката. В Палестина отидох за първи път на протестна демонстрация от какъвто и да е било вид в живота си, започнах да участвам както в списването на блог за организацията, към която бях активист, така и на свой личен, в който можех да си позволя да бъда емоционална.
Така престоят ми там ме промени в посока, че почнах да се интересувам повече от случващото се по света и особено в Палестина, мои предишни интереси останаха на заден план. Докато бях там личният ми блог водех на английски, тъй като реших, че така ще е достъпен за по-голяма част от приятелите ми. Обещах на много приятели палестинци, че ще разкажа на колкото се може повече хора за онова, което видях, че наистина се случва в техния ежедневен живот: политика на етническа чистка, провеждана от Израел спрямо тях, рушенето на къщи, изземване на земята им, нападенията от екстремните еврейски заселници над тях, бруталното потъпкване на мирните им демонстрации, униженията на пропускателните пунктове, политиката на административно задържане, всичко онова, което повечето медии премълчават и пренебрегват. Истинската работа на активиста започва едва след като напусне Палестина и вярвам, че има определен вид знание, което носи със себе си отговорността то да бъде споделено.

Затова реши да продължиш с писането?

Както вече споменах, в повечето световни медии не само не се споменава нищо за несправедливостите на живота под Окупация, ами обратното – Израел се представя като жертва и “единствена демокрация в Близкия Изток”, вярвам, че воденето на блог и въобще всякакви форми на активизъм са съществено важни за показване на истинското грозно лице на политиката на окупация и апартейд. Не смятам, че активизмът е важен единствено в Щатите, където всеки един американец носи лична отговорност за израелската окупация, тъй като тя се поддържа с доларите от техните данъци. Всеки един от нас може да заеме позиция по въпроса, като например откаже да купува продукти от компании, които спонсорират окупацията над Западния бряг; такива са например Hewlett Packard и Motorolla. Това далеч не е идеализъм, бойкотът над израелски продукти жъне големи успехи през последните години и все повече хора го подкрепят. Наскоро, докато търсех в нета информация за Палестина на български, видях, че резултатите имат често и почти изцяло за свой източник двата-три блога, които се пишат на български. Така реших, че ще съм по-полезна, ако също започна да пиша на български, тъй като все пак подобна информация на английски има доста повече.

Welcome to Palestine 2012

Some Scots, English and Welsh joined Welcome to Palestine 2011 and tried to transit Tel Aviv airport to visit Palestine.  When the young woman at passport control asked our destination we said clearly and politely, “Palestine”.  If we had said any other word we would have had little trouble: I had been through Tel Aviv airport about 18 times and never had a problem getting through since, like every other solidarity activist, I concealed my true intent and destination.  I lied, since I knew the officials there are part and parcel of the effort to isolate the West Bank from international solidarity.

 

Last July, however, giving the answer “Palestine” led to myself and others being put in handcuffs and leg-irons and taken to Givon Prison with scores of others.  The prison authorities told us we were guilty of something but, in a Kafkaesque performance, would not reveal which law had been broken since saying the word “Palestine” is not a crime known even to the racist Israeli legal system.  To repeat: we were imprisoned for saying the word “Palestine” to an official at Tel Aviv Airport.

 

Now the Israel Law Centre, labelled a “civil rights group” by the Jerusalem Post, has called for groups who fly into Tel Aviv Airport and indicate their destination as “Palestine” to be charged and tried and punished in Israeli courts unspecified violations “of Israeli law, including the Penal Code, the Police Ordinance and Emergency Regulations.”

 

Anyone with a sense of history knows that Israel’s current ethnic cleansing of Palestinians to make way for Jewish settlers/colonists was preceded by a long-term denial of the very existence of the Palestinian people.  Jailing people for uttering the word “Palestine” is part of this tradition.

 

It has always been Zionist policy to isolate the Palestinian people from international links while the violent process of dispossession of a whole people is carried out.  Support Welcome to Palestine in its challenge to this cruel project, now in its seventh decade.

 

In the UK, ask your MP to answer the appeal they received on Wednesday from the Palestinian Ambassador in London to support Palestinians’ right to receive visitors.  Go towww.coordin8.org.uk   It only takes a minute.(Mick Napier, SPSC Chair)

Some Lufthansa passengers to Tel Aviv have been sent cancellations and fare reimbursements.  Noteworthy that the note, in French, has no mention of the flight number or destination, nor mention of the Israeli Government pressure on the air carrier.  All those who had their tickets cancelled will still report to the check-in desk and ask that their contract with the airline be honoured.

British Government: "We support Israel's right to blockade the West Bank"

“Travel in and out of the West Bank is not possible without passing through at least one Israeli military checkpoint. You will need a passport to go through these checkpoints.
“Serious Organised Crime Agency investigation into the misuse of UK passports in the murder of Mahmud al-Mabhuh in Dubai on 19 January 2010 found evidence of Israeli involvement in the fraudulent use of British passports.  Only hand your passport over to third parties including Israeli officials when absolutely necessary.”

The Zionist Jewish Telegraph carried an article, ‘Flytilla‘ to invade Israel on last year’s effort to peacefully enter Palestine, claiming that a “similar attack took place last year” and that travellers attempting  to enter Palestine in April actually aim to cause “maximum chaos”.  After claiming that the attempt to enter Palestine openly and peacefully is “an attack”, the weekly newspaper attempts to mobilise the entire UK Jewish community in support of the siege of Palestine:  “If the community is aware of anyone who intends to cause trouble they should inform the Israeli embassy.”  This sinister move needs to be repudiated by Jewish community leaders and activists

Time to move from words to action against the Israeli blockade and siege: here is an absurd, cheery little entry on Glasgow City Council’s website about its twin city, Bethlehem. No mention of occupation, illegal wall.  Instead we have ‘closely linked to nearby Jerusalem’ (by a wall!) and ‘increased intermingling of the region’s people’ (despite apartheid and physical barriers?).  

 

Modern Bethlehem is an agricultural market and trade centre closely linked to nearby Jerusalem. It lies at a distance of 10 kms (6 miles) to the south of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is situated on a mountainous site, 777 meters (2600 feet) above the level of the Mediterranean Sea and overlooks its surroundings. Its surface resembles the shape of a semi circle. From the west, the town of Bethlehem is bounded by the town of Beit Jala and from the east by the town of Beit Sahour. From the north it is bordered by Jerusalem and the village of Sur Bahir and from the south by Solomon's Pools and the villages of al-Khader and Artas. Forty thousand people live in the administrative limits of the municipality of Bethlehem and five thousand people in the old center of the town. As a symbol of the increased intermingling of the region's people, beside Arabic, the native language, English is widely spoken. French, German and Spanish are spoken too. Tourism and its related enterprises form a major industry in the region. They play a crucial role in developing the local economy. More than 20% of the working population is employed in the tourism sector.

While the world celebrated the election of Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, I joined a family in mourning the unnecessary death of their 11 month-old child in Burma. And while the world celebrated the election of Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, I watched as a family mourned the preventable death of their baby boy. Myu Jat Aung, just 11 months old, wasn't a victim of the landmines that litter the region or a stray bullet shot during an attack by the Burmese army. No, Myu Jat Aung died in a refugee camp from diarrhea after his family was forced to flee with only what they could carry on their backs after the Burmese military destroyed their village. Because the government continues to block humanitarian aid, the lack of clean water, food and medicines turned an otherwise easily treatable condition like diarrhea into an illness that stretched out for two weeks until his tiny body grew too weak to fight any longer. By the time aid began to trickle into the camp, it was too late for Myu Jat Aung. There have been calls for lifting all economic sanctions on the Burmese government given the outcome of the recent elections. But after seeing villages that were razed, children suffering and dying for lack of food and medicine and people who've gone missing all at the hands of the military, I believe a different approach is required. Scottish Government helped Israeli company deal with boycott "threatening future of Eden Springs UK"

Documents obtained by the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign show how a subsidiary of an Israeli company operating in Britain turned successfully for help from the Scottish Government to deal with what the Israeli company called “a wave of protests...that is threatening the future of Eden Springs UK”. The contract cancellations had created a “pressing situation” for the subsidiary of the giant Israeli multinational water cooler company.

The letter obtained under Freedom of Information legislation is from the Eden Springs’ Business Development Director to the Director of Scottish enterprise, and reveals a fear of the growing boycott of Eden Springs.  The writer seeks a meeting with an official of Government-funded Scottish Enterprise to obtain “advice or assistance to stem undue harm” to the Israeli company, namely how to avoid further “termination of Eden Springs’ public sector contracts as a result of this boycott”.    Read more

 

 

Over 1,000 Welcome to Palestine 2012 participants will try to travel to Palestine through Tel Aviv Airport on April 15th
UK citizens are sending this letter to their MP:

"I am writing as a constituent to ask you to endorse the Welcome to Palestine 2012 peace initiative by a group of British citizens and other internationals who will attempt to travel to Occupied Palestine on April 15th to visit Palestinian civil society groups. 

 

I will be supporting this peaceful initiative.  Last July, by order of the Israeli Government, hundreds of people in European airports were prevented from embarking on their flights, and over 100 people were detained and imprisoned in Israel to prevent them travelling to Palestine.

 

A truly shocking letter from Ms Charmaine Farrow at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises the Welcome to Palestine 2012 organisers that the FCO ”are not able to approach the Israeli authorities to request that they do not hinder the passage of any British nationals wishing to travel to the OPTs” since “Israel immigration officials...have the right to refuse entry to anyone they wish.  The UK's immigration is similarly protected.”

 

This is nothing less than a support of Israel’s right to blockade the West Bank, while it continues with its illegal settlement-building.

Only recently, (14 March) EU ambassadors in the West Bank reported a huge increase in attacks on Palestinians by Israeli settlers and the EU Observer reports that the “EU diplomats depicted settler attacks as part of a broader Israeli campaign to get rid of native Palestinians.” (http://bit.ly/w35HH1) This same conclusion was some time ago reached by Amnesty, Human Rights Watch, the UN’s Goldstone Report, and others.

 

It is surely unacceptable that the UK Government concede a right to Israel to isolate the people of the occupied West Bank from international links while Israel carries out its policy of dispossession and the introduction of Jewish-only settlements, in flagrant violation of any notion of justice, and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

 

The UK Government has a long history of violating Palestinian human rights, from British support for European Zionist colonisation from 1918 onwards, to our recent refusal to support Palestine’s successful UNESCO application.

 

Most voters across Europe and beyond hold negative views of Israel. (http://bit.ly/f2lm3i)  Opinion in this constituency will not be different.

In giving their support to this initiative, the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Prof Manuel Hassassian, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and others write: “There is no way into Palestine other than through Israeli control points.
