Al-Awda, The Palestine Right To Return Coalition and the Free Samer Issawi Campaign call on all people of conscience to take immediate action to help save the life of Palestinian political prisoner Samer Issawi who has been on a hunger strike for 208 days.
Issawi has been detained by Israeli authorities without any charge whatsoever. He was detained again without charge on 7 July 2012 and has been refusing food since August 2012 in protest. He is in critical condition.
There are currently 178 Palestinian administrative detainees being held without any charge whatsoever. In addition to Issawi, Jafar Izzeddin, Ayman Sharawneh and Tariq Qadan are also on hunger strike to protest prison conditions and administrative detention.
