I didn't commit the Holocaust

Every time Zionist Jews mark the holocaust anniversary, they strive, often in a pathetic and disgusting manner, to utilize the colossal crime against humanity in order to divert attention from the gigantic crimes the same Zionist Jews have been carrying out against the Palestinian people ever since the creation of the misbegotten state in 1948.

Hence, the holocaust is used as the ultimate red herring to justify another huge crime against humanity that is Israel.

Day after day, Israel is proving to all and sundry that it is more of a malignant tumor whose ultimate goal is to kill, replace, destroy and liquidate than of a normal human entity wanting to live and let live.

The creation of Israel has been and continues to be an unrelenting crime against humanity in light of the persistent and never-ending effects and aftereffects of that crime. Most Jews no longer suffer as a result of the holocaust. In comparison, however, most Palestinians continue to suffer miserably as a result of Israel’s creation.

Hundreds if not thousands of Palestinians continue to die every year as a direct or indirect result of the homelessness and dispersal inflicted on them due to Israel's creation.

The Palestinians may not be the most oppressed people under the sun. But they are absolutely the world’s most consistently and uninterruptedly tormented people, thanks mainly to the harmful existence of Israel.

Even today, Palestinian refugees die of starvation in Syria. These people wouldn't be dying such a painful and agonizing death had they been allowed to stay in their ancestral homeland.

But Zionism and humanness have always been an eternal oxymoron. An ideology that condemns people to death and endless suffering just because they don't happen to belong to "the holy tribe" is an evil ideology par excellence, even if constantly corroborated by ancient religious texts.

Evil is evil and a god that condones evil and oppression must be a false god.

I, a Palestinian Arab Muslim, would really and honestly identify with Jews marking the holocaust anniversary. However, because Israelis and Zionist Jews in general are exploiting and manipulating the tragic occasion to perpetuate and justify the immense oppression meted out to my people, I feel I would be dishonest to claim I feel any empathy with the people who use the memory of one holocaust to perpetrate another.

Of course, at the human level I feel immensely sorry for the victims of the holocaust as well as for Nazi Germany's tens of millions of victims, Jews and non-Jews.

In the final analysis, Nazi Germany actually committed two colossal crimes: First, the Holocaust (which is by the way not the biggest act of genocidal killing in history- Stalin may have murdered more people than Hitler ever did). And, second, the creation of Israel.

One anti-Zionist rabbi once told me half-jokingly that Hitler might be eventually forgiven for doing what he did against European Jewry, but he would never ever be forgiven for helping establish the state of Israel.

I don't know why God permitted the creation of Israel. I don't know why the Almighty allows evil in the first place. Well, God probably created Israel for the same mysterious reasons for which He allowed Nazi Germany to thrive and prosper, which could mean that Israel will eventually meet the same fate that Germany eventually met. Yes, Israel does apparently have a longer life-span than did Nazi Germany. But will the end-game be much different?

I know the subject of theodicy is not an easy one. We should just realize that there are certain things that can't be sufficiently explained in human terms. We humans are just too imperfect and too incomplete to understand things beyond our immediate perceptions.

None the less, there is no doubt that the continued existence of Israel is a major sign of evil in this world. But evil is ultimately self-destructive and self-limiting. This is why I have no doubt that Israel will eventually find its way to demise and disappearance. I hope this end will not be too far into the future.

In a world where everything can be denied, there are forces undeniable. I am sure these forces will ultimately move to apply the laws of history and nature to Israel as these forces had been applied numerous times to other oppressors

In the current quagmire of the warring parties in Syria, we believe that this is the proper response to adopt as a Palestinian organization that was founded with the specific aim and goal to create a strong basis of international solidarity with Palestinian refugees, regardless of where they have been forced to live outside of Palestine by their Zionist aggressors.  With regard to the Syrian people, we extend our gratitude, brotherhood and solidarity to them, and we believe it is not up to us, but up to them to decide who leads their country.  All we want for our Palestinian refugee communities is the protection of their homes, their families, and their livelihoods for the time that they are still unable to return to their rightful place in the world, in our homeland Palestine. As long as this exile in the Shatat lasts, the horrors that are befalling the people living in Yarmouk camp cannot be tolerated, accepted, or defended, regardless of whom is to be held responsible for this cruel siege, that victimizes only innocent people who have little or no part in the ongoing hostilities that are prevalent on Syrian soil.  We call upon the citizens of the free world, international media, and all international aid organizations to direct their attention and action to the indefensible suffering that is taking place in Yarmouk camp.  We call upon all parties, the Syrian government and the armed opposition, to take responsibility for any actions on their part, direct or indirect, that are contributing to this horrendous situation, and to cease any such activities immediately.  We demand that the siege of Yarmouk camp end and that all fighters leave the camp with their weapons immediately.  The injustice must end, and it must end immediately.  Our people deserve food, medical aid, protection and shelter, and everything possible must be done to make sure they receive these with immediate effect.  ACTION: We ask all people of conscience to contact the Syrian Embassy and the Office of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces in Washington DC to demand that the siege of Yarmouk camp end and that all fighters leave the camp with their weapons immediately. The water in #Gaza is not only water #Ismpalestine

I was just going to make dinner when I realized the filtered water in my tank was almost done. Perhaps it would be enough if I used the last of my bottled water. But then I would have nothing to drink with my meal. And there would be no coffee, not after the food and not for breakfast. Glances at the tap, I considered diluting the filtered water with tapwater, in order to save time and to avoid having to walk two blocks to fill the tank. It was dark outside, and the shop with water might be closed.

Tapwater cannot be used for cooking, or should not be used for cooking. I avoid doing it anyway. I wash dishes in it, but do not use it to cook my rice. It’s salt. Saltwater penetrates the underground aquifier because it is larger than the natural supply of water. But the seawater is not its only contaminant. According to the United Nation, chemicals and sewage also pollute it, which is not surprising when 90,000 cubic meters of untreated sewage gush out every day. Sewage, from the toilets, back in the taps. With water treatment plants, that works. But in Gaza, the problem is that there is not enough diesel to run the generators around the clock. And for those Israel has bombed, well, it also stops the import of replacement parts. Meanwhile seawater, chemicals and sewage increase in the water supply. By 2016, UN expects the water to become completely unusable. Only three years are left until then. And at 2020, no one they say, no one will be able to live here.

I open the fridge, hoping to find something that does not require water for cooking. I close it again. Maybe the store is open, but the cistern outside it is empty. It’s not just me who needs water. And some families have to spend as much as a third of their income on it. They must use the contaminated tapwater far more than I do. When I first came here, I used tapwater to brush my teeth. That was a mistake I will not repeat. But I rinse the toothbrush in it afterwards, shaking it carefully. I think that’s okay. A Swiss woman visiting Gaza asked if I drank the filtered water. It should be drinkable, but someone told me it is only filtered from salt. I do not want to find out how things are, do not want to know. I buy the more expensive bottled water. But I wash my clothes in water from the plumbing system, like everyone else here is forced to do. I wash my hands in it, my face. I take my showers in it, washing off my salty sweat with contaminated water, polluted not only by salt, like everyone else here must.

It becomes more polluted every year. The farmers have problems with it. It’s too salty for citrus seeds to germinate, and causes harvests to decline for the products that still grow. Tanker trucks drive to those who can afford to pay. Israel says it’s concerned, has plans to pull in a pipeline and talks about desalination plants, the same plants it keeps from entering. And I think about what will happen when the disaster strikes, when no one can live here, when everyone is forced to flee: a new Nakba, caused not by the force of arms but by the siege. Where can they go? Who is prepared to receive them? And what will happen then? Will Israel then will take over the empty land, this terra nullius, pumping in water, getting the desert to bloom? I hear it as an echo.

JENIN, (PIC)– Groups of settlers, accompanied by the occupation forces (IOF), stormed on Friday morning the area between the villages of Kefert and Yaabad, south of Jenin, where they attacked the citizens and erected roadblocks.

Local sources said that large numbers of settlers closed the entrances of Yaabad and Kefert and prevented the farmers from entering their lands.

They added that the settlers erected three military roadblocks in the area on the main street and blocked the traffic.

The occupation forces have waged a fierce attack on Yaabad for over a month, which led to the arrest of dozens of the town’s residents.

Meanwhile, the IOF raided at dawn Friday the towns of Zababda, Araba and Kafr El Ra’i and conducted sweeps.

Rafah Crossing opened after 11 days of closure

Gaza, ALRAY – The Egyptian authorities opened on Tuesday morning the Rafah Crossing after 11 days of closure.

The Ministry of Interior(MOI) said that one of the 11 buses has left Gaza short time ago.

It announced yesterday that the Rafah Crossing will be opened for three  consecutive days started from Tuesday from 9:00am to 3:00 pm.

“The travelling will be allowed for passengers whose names included in the fourth and the fifth lists,” MOI indicated.

The Palestinian government in Gaza demanded Egypt to open the crossing  permanently to reduce the travelling crisis that has negative effects on patients, humanitarian cases, citizens with residence permits and students.

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Jewish settlers chopped down more than one hundred olive trees in Yatta town, south of Al-Khalil, on Sunday.

Ratib Al-Jabour, the coordinator of the popular committees against the wall and settlements in Yatta, said on Monday that the trees were owned by two Palestinian farmers.

He said that the settlers came from five settlements near to Wad Ma’in area in Yatta where the trees were cut down.

Jabour lashed out at settlers’ practices that aim at terrorizing citizens into abandoning their land, which would be then easily annexed by those settlers to their settlements.

#OpenRafahBorder | Egyptian authorities to open #Rafah crossing for three days

RAFAH, (PIC)– Egyptian authorities said the Rafah border crossing with Gaza Strip would open on Tuesday for three days, after ten days of closure, for the travel of passengers who have humanitarian conditions.

Maher Abu Sabha, the director of crossings and borders at the Gaza interior ministry, said that the Egyptians informed his department that the crossing would work from 0900 am to 0300 pm (local time) during those three days.

The Egyptian authorities have repeatedly closed the border terminal since the ouster of Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi in early July and opened it only for few days for a limited period of time and for certain categories.

The repeated closure of the crossing exacerbated the suffering of the Gaza inhabitants who have been under siege for seven years.

NABLUS, (PIC)– Hundreds of Israeli occupation forces (IOF) attacked Qasra village, south of Nablus, afternoon Monday under heavy gunfire wounding 15 Palestinians.

Eyewitnesses told the PIC reporter that the citizens were either directly hit with rubber-coated bullets or suffered injuries from shrapnel while dozens were treated for breathing difficulty.

They said that the soldiers, in tens of armored vehicles, stormed the village from its southern entrance under heavy firing of bullets and teargas canisters.

They said that the soldiers, who were confronted by dozens of young men throwing stones and empty bottles, managed to advance into the town’s center as citizens asked inhabitants via loudspeakers in mosques to go out and confront the invading troops.

The eyewitnesses said that the IOF attack coincided with the entry of dozens of Jewish settlers into the town’s cultivated land and occupied nearby mountain peaks.

They said that the settlers triggered the confrontations after they destroyed 50 olive saplings and two hothouses owned by four citizens in the village.

Qasra village is surrounded by three settlements that were established on eastern and southwestern areas of the village.

I’ve spent my entire life hearing stories about Jerusalem and the beauty of my homeland from my mother and grandparents. I had always dreamed of one day being able to visit, and in the summer of 2012 it seemed that I would finally have that opportunity. In September of that year I started my travels with 30 peers on a student diplomatic trip through the Middle East. I knew that I would likely face some trouble at the Israeli borders due to my Palestinian background, however what I experienced turned out to be far more than just a little “trouble”.

On September 13th, 30 of my peers and myself, made our way from Amman, Jordan to the Jordan River Crossing, the international border between Israel and Jordan. We lined up single file to go through baggage check, and have our passports checked by a young soldier who couldn’t be over the age of 25. I watched as several of my peers handed their bags and passports over and were quickly moved along. There seemed to be no trouble. As I approached the soldier and handed him my own passport, he read my name and automatically asked me to step aside. I obliged, wondering and worrying why I hadn’t been let through as easily as my friends who I could now see collecting their luggage and heading back to the bus. I waited patiently as I watched my passport be handed around from soldier to soldier, each reading my name out loud then conversing among each other in Hebrew.

Eventually one of the soldiers took my passport to the back and handed it to a young lady behind a glass window. I watched her inspect the passport and vigorously type my information into the computer screen in front of her. After about 35 minutes of her “research” on me, she called me over to her window, and proceeded to question me.

“What is the purpose of your visit to Israel?”

“I am on a student diplomatic trip with the University of California school system”

“Where are your mother and father from?”

“My father is Egyptian, and my mother is Palestinian” I noticed her smirk when I said the word Palestinian.

“Where are they now?”

“In California, where they live”

“Do you have family here in Israel?”

“No, but I have family in Palestine”

“So your mother is a Palestinian and you think that you can come to Israel?”

“Yes”

“You are not allowed to enter here because you have a Palestinian I.D.”

“No, I do not, I am an American citizen. I wasn’t born in Palestine, nor have I ever lived there”

Fuel shortages have caused daily life in the Gaza Strip to grind slowly to a halt, as power plants and water pumps are forced to shut down, cutting off access to basic necessities for 1.7 million residents.

The lack of diesel fuel is a result of the tightening of a 7-year-long blockade imposed on the territory by Israel with Egyptian support.

Until July of this year, tunnels connecting Gaza to Egypt provided a vital lifeline for the territory amidst the otherwise crippling Israeli blockade. The blockade has been in place since 2006, and it has limited imports and exports and led to a major economic decline and wide-reaching humanitarian crisis.

In the last year, however, the situation had greatly improved, as the tunnels to Egypt witnessed a brisk trade following the Egyptian Revolution.

Egyptian Maj. Gen. Ahmad Ibrahim said in October that nearly 800 tunnels had been destroyed since the beginning of the year at that time, while Rafah officials estimated in September that these operations had demolished 95% of previously existing tunnels.

Gaza Strip energy officials blame Egypt for destroying these tunnels while maintaining the larger economic blockade, along with Israel. They also blamed the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority for charging taxes on fuel too high for Gaza Strip authorities to afford to import.

Electricity, already a scarce resource in the Gaza Strip, has been severely rationed since the beginning of the month, when the Gaza Strip’s main power plant was forced to shut down due to lack of fuel. The power plant supplies around 30 percent of the besieged strip’s power, while the rest comes through Israel and Egypt at inflated prices.

The lack of electricity has forced water stations to stop pumping at times, and in some neighborhoods residents only receive two hours of water a day. Families stay up all night waiting for these two hours to ensure they have enough water for their daily needs.

The lack of power also means that life ceases at night, as the lack of electricity forces life to continue by candlelight. Even though many Gaza homes, businesses, and public institutions have generators to provide power for when the electricity cuts out, the lack of fuel means these can no longer be used by most.

A major waste water treatment plant in al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City failed on Wednesday, leading sewage to flood the streets of the neighborhood and blocking passage for residents through the city’s darkened alleyways.

On Nov. 1, United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator James Rawley warned of the impending crisis in the Gaza Strip, calling for “urgent action.”

“For the benefit of Gaza’s civilian population it is essential that a way be found to allow the power plant to resume its operations and that the broader chronic energy crisis be addressed,” he said.

Despite this, no relief is in sight for Gaza residents.

JERUSALEM (AFP) — Israeli troops in the West Bank detained four Palestinian children aged five to nine years for more than an hour Friday with their hands cuffed, Palestinian witnesses said.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said that troops rounded up some minors during rioting in the northern West bank village of Kfar Qaddum but held them only briefly.

“A group of Palestinian children were detected setting fire to tires,” she said. “These riots usually start with burning tires being rolled at security forces.”

“Soldiers rounded up the children to prevent mayhem and when a commander arrived shortly afterwards they were released,” she said.

She did not give their ages or say if handcuffs were used, but said that the incident was being reviewed by the military.

Palestinian activist Murad Ashtiye told AFP that clashes erupted with soldiers in the village during the weekly protest there against Israeli occupation by Palestinians and international activists.

“Four children who were present in the area had stun grenades thrown at them by Israeli soldiers, which frightened them,” said Ashtiye of the village’s Popular Struggle Coordination Committee.

“Then the soldiers arrested them and tied their hands behind their backs using plastic strips,” he added, identifying the children as Tariq Hikmet, 9, Hossam Khaldun, 7, six-year old Malak Hikmet, and Ahmad Abdessalam, 5.

The UN Children’s Fund’s March report, entitled “Children in Israeli Military Detention,” said Israel was the only country in the world where children were systematically tried in military courts and gave evidence of practices it said were “cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment.”

“Ill-treatment of Palestinian children in the Israeli military detention system appears to be widespread, systematic and institutionalized,” it concluded, outlining 38 recommendations.
