GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian government in Gaza has declared that Israel's use of force against peaceful protests in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and along occupied Palestinian borders implies a state of confusion and helplessness. ”The crowds we've seen in Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan suggest the divine promise of victory and sovereignty and the return to the homes and holy sites is near,” said government spokesman Tahir al-Nunu. He said that the government ”condemns the brutal Zionist attacks on peaceful protesters, and considers that the new crime that led to the injury of dozens suggests [the Israeli occupier's] confusion and its deep concern over popular movements”. ”[Israel] has been defeated from within and lacks any human ingredient to survive besides resorting to violence and force and killing to impose their forced presence on the region and world.” In a related development, the secretary-general of the Palestinian Cabinet Dr. Mohammad Ascol has said that the Palestinian government will use full force to address suspected attempts to marginalize the Palestinian refugees' right of return. The statement came during Nakba Day on Sunday. He said the government would not renounce its responsibility to preserve the right of return and would do everything in its power to promote it. |
