BETHLEHEM, February 20, 2011 (WAFA) – An Israeli soldier unleashed a police dog on two Palestinian prisoners while leaving Ofera military court on February 7.
Mother of prisoner Anas al-Nabahin from Bethlehem witnessed the attack, and said that the police dog was released at her son and another prisoner for no reason.
The dog’s attack injured the prisoners’ hands, according to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club.
The Club condemned the Israeli soldiers’ vicious behaviors at the court, which represents 'Justice in Israel,' and considered it as evidence of the Israeli maltreatment with the Palestinian prisoners and of the violations of International laws.
Prisoner Anas al-Nhabeen was sentenced to six and a half years in prison, while Israeli prosecutors appealed the sentence. A hearing is set on February 28 to increase the sentence.
